Lockdown gave me the opportunity to completely overhaul and upgrade my studio, so i totally rewired and reconfigured the system, purchasing and installing the Universal Audio Apollo 16 audio interface (augmented by the UA Satellite) whilst adding many more UA plugins to my already large library. I also took the opportunity to have new valves fitted in all of my front end preamps and install a complete new headphone monitoring system. A big undertaking and investment but well worth the effort.
Just completed 2 new singles for the wonderful Waltz Awayentitled ‘Another Way’ and the haunting ‘Angel in the red room’ now available on all platforms (with a lovely vinyl pressing too) Enjoy the video for ‘Angel in the red room’
Apologies for the lack of updates for quite some time, most of you probably know i had some health issues last year that slowed me down a bit…..Anyway all good now, here are a few of the things i’ve been up to this year so far. Recorded and mixed the new album by Barney Morse- Brown (Duotone), recorded and mixed new EP’s for lanterns, Anhedonia, Tom Seals, Bines, The Rafters, also mixed a Pharrell Williams track and recorded the new album for Wishbone Ash amongst many other things, so obviously back up to speed now, please feel free to get in touch for bookings etc.
It seems quite apt at this time of the year to put this track up, Poppies is one of the tracks I produced for Maelor on his brilliant album ‘Turning of the seasons‘
Just finished mixing the fantastic new album by the Ben Cox Band ‘Round and Round‘
This is the London based bands’ second album, and has already been given lots of great radio playlistings, packed with great songs and amazing performances, highlights include a stunning duet ‘Way of life’ with the amazing Liane Carroll
Great new track from Terry Swaysland and Steve Dyer, taken from the third album i’ve had the pleasure to produce for Terry who now lives in Hampshire. He and Steve recorded their parts (vocal and 2 acoustic guitars) live and sent me the files to work on, we added keyboards and slide guitar at MJM then asked violinist Andrew Price to write a string arrangement, Andrew and cellistPeter Dixonthen came over en route to play with the BBC Philharmonic orchestra (now based in Manchester) and we recorded the string section. I finished mixing the album recently and have just had it mastered by Rodney Mills in Atlanta….Enjoy. Album available soon from the Rockbeam website.
The multi- talented Mark Nelson has just written and recorded a great new track on which he also plays guitar and keyboards, (he also did the lovely painting on the link). His son Lewis Nelson is on vocals and the legendary Bobby Elliott from ‘The Hollies’ plays drums.
The Under Every Sky album CD – in shrink-wrapped digipak format and priced £10 – is available direct from the band. The CD will also become available from selected outlets over the coming weeks. www.indiamillmusic.com #undereverysky
Finally mixing Manchester sax player Andy Schofield‘s latest solo album, Andy is now living in Prague and has just toured with George Michael as tenor sax player on his ‘Symphonica Tour’.
The original tracks were recorded here a couple of years ago, but clearly Andy has been a busy bee since then but now we are finally mixing the tracks which sound stunning.
Songwriting team Lonejo music have just recorded the demo’s for Vocalist Nathan James’ new album.
Lonejo consists of Lois Dagnall, John Dagnall and Neil Fairclough (now live bass player for Queen),with the incredible Johnny Heys adding guitar. 10 tracks were recorded (one of which is 10 mins long!) The tracks sound epic…..
From the ashes of the band Gekko rises new band ‘meVmortality‘. Mark, Craig and Sadz are joined by drummer Dan and bassist Grant to form this exciting new combo…..
Phil, Ste, Miles and Chris put the parts down for 2 new songs today, the session went really well, the lads were really well rehearsed and as tight as i’ve ever heard them, once again Ste and Miles sharing drumming duties seamlessly and Chris and Phil unleashing energy driven riffs..updates to follow.
It’s been a while since they were here last, but i’m really excited to be starting a new album with the guys…watch this space.
The first sessions went really well..13 new tracks to work on and the boys are inspired!
Back working on the album after a short break (the small matter of Alistair getting married)..in the meantime here’s a classic India Mill track to keep you going….
